Whitney Miller

Director of Collections, Jackson County, Missouri

Whitney Miller has served as director of the Jackson County Collection Department since 2018. Under Miller’s leadership, the department accounts for approximately $905 million in tax revenue collections from the county’s 703,011 residents across more than 70 taxing jurisdictions. Prior to her appointment, Miller spent more than six years providing civil legal counsel for the County Counselor’s Office with a focus on employment and tax law. A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Law, Miller is also a member of the Jackson County Pension Board and the Board of Directors for Wilderness Camping and Retreat Center.

 

Michael Erickson

Director of Information Technology, Jackson County, Missouri

Michael Erickson has served Jackson County as the Director of Information Technology since 2015. Erickson specializes in infrastructure operations management, service integration and technology integration. Before joining Jackson County’s administrative leadership team, Erickson worked in IT and solutions-focused positions with Accenture, Netsmart Technologies and the Kansas Department of Labor.

 

Otto Doll — Moderator

Senior Fellow, Center for Digital Government

As the Minneapolis CIO for seven-plus years, Mr. Doll was responsible for all city IT services. He also served as South Dakota's CIO for 15 years with responsibility for all state government computing, telecommunications, radio, and public broadcasting. While with IT research firms, Mr. Doll has advised Fortune 1000, federal, state, and local government CIOs on information technology assessment and alignment to business needs. He has served as a director with the United States General Services Administration, developing information technology strategic plans and oversight policy. Mr. Doll received his computer science degree from Virginia Tech and is a senior executive fellow of the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. He is a past president of NASCIO — a national organization of state CIOs. He also is a past president of the Metropolitan Information Exchange (MIX) — a national organization of city and county CIOs. Mr. Doll was named to Government Technology's 2004 Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers.
